It’s time to tune when the piano loses the voice that it had when last tuned, when chords seem to beat or become harsh somehow, when the pitch level is high or low as happens due to seasonal changes. When the instrument is tuned regularly, incorrect intonation may be avoided. The piano will sound as intended at all times, due to increased tuning stability, providing that the instrument and it’s environment are reasonably sound.
